JX220 Self-adhesive Polymer Modified Asphalt Waterproof Membrane is a self-adhesive waterproof sheet. It takes self-adhesive polymer modified asphalt as the base material, with surface covered by PE film, isolation film, fine sand or PET film. It is for non-exposed application, available in non-reinforced type (Type N) and polyester reinforced type (Type PY). It is a new type of building waterproof material with broad development prospects.

Scope of Application

• For waterproofing of industrial & civil building roofs, basements, subways, tunnels, water source conservancy and other projects.

• Especially suitable for projects where open flame construction is prohibited, such as oil tanks, chemical plants, textile mills and grain depots.

Construction Process (Self-adhesive Method)

Substrate Preparation → Primer Application → Detail Treatment → Snap Reference Lines → Membrane Installation → Lap Joint Treatment → Edge Termination Treatment → Self-inspection & Acceptance → Handover

Construction Method

• Substrate Cleaning: Clean the substrate thoroughly. The substrate shall be flat, clean and dry.

• Primer Coating: Apply primer evenly onto prepared substrate by long-handled roller or spray. Avoid missing coating or bare spots.

• Additional Waterproof Layer: Before laying main membrane, install additional waterproofing layer at details in compliance with specifications and design. The extra layer shall be same-type self-adhesive membrane.

• Line Marking: On dry prepared substrate, snap reference lines according to membrane width and lap width for accurate installation.

• Large-area Installation: Peel off release film on membrane bottom, lay membrane on dry substrate. Press the top surface gently with trowel to expel trapped air and ensure full contact between membrane and substrate, in multi-person teamwork. Adopt lap joint for adjacent sheets, the lap width of both long edge and short edge is 80mm.

• Peel release film at the lap area of lower sheet, clean the lap edge and complete lapping. Apply sealant if needed to achieve tight sealing between two sheets.

Transportation & Storage

Store and transport membranes by separate types & specifications, no mixing. Keep away from sunlight and rain, well ventilated. Storage temperature ≤45℃. Stack flat rolls no more than 5 layers high; vertical storage for single layer only. Prevent tilting and side compression during the transportation process, cover with tarpaulin when necessary. Under normal transport and storage conditions, shelf life is at least 1 year from production date.
