JX230 Wet-laid Waterproof Membrane is a polymer-modified asphalt self-adhesive membrane with a high-quality pressure-sensitive reactive self-adhesive layer. It achieves reactive bonding to concrete substrates via cement paste or cement mortar.

Scope of Application

For waterproofing of non-exposed roofs and underground projects, as well as cut-and-cover metro, tunnel, water tank, canal and other projects. Especially suitable for waterproof projects where open flame is prohibited.

Product Features

• Can be directly constructed on damp substrate (no standing water). No special substrate treatment required, shortening construction period and saving cost.

Construction Process

Substrate Cleaning → Substrate Wetting → Detail Joint Treatment → Mark Reference Lines for Membrane Laying → Self-adhesive Membrane Installation → Membrane Overlap → Detail Sealing → Self-Inspection & Acceptance → Handover of Working Surface

Construction Method

• Substrate Treatment: Remove dust and debris on substrate surface. Pre-wet dry substrate with water.

• Special Adhesive Mixing: Cement : Water : Rubber Powder = 100 : 45 : 0.5. First put rubber powder into mixing bucket, add water while stirring, then add cement continuously. Mix until free of lumps, sediment and foam.

• Determine coating thickness of special adhesive according to substrate flatness, normally 2~3mm. Apply cement slurry within membrane laying area (control working range, apply slurry and lay membrane simultaneously).

• Peel off the release film on the underside of membrane, lay membrane flat on freshly applied mortar. After laying the first membrane, apply slurry and lay the second one by one. Adjacent membranes are parallel butt jointed.

• Roll the membrane surface with wooden trowel or rubber plate to squeeze out slurry and air underneath, achieving tight contact between membrane and mortar.

• Curing & Standing: Leave for 24~48 hours (time depends on ambient temperature; higher temperature shortens curing time).

• When laying membrane on vertical walls, temporarily seal the membrane terminal (tape or thick cement mortar) to prevent rapid water loss at wall termination.

• Membrane overlap width ≥80mm, adopt membrane body-to-body lap joint.

Transportation & Storage

Stack different types and specifications separately. Avoid direct sunlight and rain; keep well ventilated and away from fire sources. Storage temperature: ≤45°C. Horizontal storage: maximum 5 rolls high; vertical storage: single layer only. Prevent tilting and lateral compression during transport. Cover with a tarpaulin if necessary. Shelf life: at least 1 year from production date under normal conditions.
